Father of mercies and God of all comfort, Your Son Jesus Christ has said:
The greatest love a person can have for his friends is to give his life for them;
we remember with thanks those from the Armed Forces who have laid their lives for their nation and their people and for those who strive for justice and peace.
Look mercifully upon all who have suffered and who are suffering due to wars and conflicts.
Protect the defenseless, succour the wounded, receive the dying and console the anxious and the bereaved.
Open to us a way of reconciliation and lead us into the path of peace; through Jesus Christ our only Redeemer. Amen
